Tukae believes that discrimination on the grounds of ethnic origin, skin colour, nationality, religion or belief, culture, gender, sexuality, disability or health status, age, marital status or social background is wrong and we are committed to ensure that our policies and practice combat discrimination. We will follow the Commission for Racial Equality’s code of practice. |
Our equality and diversity policy aims to:
Provide a clear statement to all members and volunteers showing our commitment to promoting equality and diversity.
Identify risk areas of potential discrimination, so we can develop strategies to combat this. |
The main principles of the policy are:
Implementing the agreed strategies is the responsibility of all members of the committee.
The policies will be reviewed annually.
The committee will monitor the policy and outcomes and aim to ensure its implementation. |
We will respond to racial harassment with effective procedures in place to support the victim and take action against perpetrators.
In delivering our services we will identify areas of potential discrimination and strategies to address them.
We will ensure that equality and diversity are applied to recruitment of staff, selecting contractors, purchasing services and supplies and communications. |
We will establish diversity and equality monitoring across our organisation and activities. |
